Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 US jobs under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to disclose complete information during its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.
Earlier reports suggested that Paramount planned to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.
Until December 2024, Paramount had almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
