Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special event held at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful context. All items mentioned below releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a little (It is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability because that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced designer explained. “However in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

After declining to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is selling a bundle. It costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card with brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza. There are six different pizza promos available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic game products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
